Emperors Palace is just outside Johannesburg and close to OR Tambo International Airport, making it easily accessible by road (see car rental options), taxi (Uber, Taxify and others), high-speed train (Gautrain, routes), bus (also a Gautrain serviceroutes), and by air (see flight options). Furthermore, Emperors Palace operates a free shuttle service which runs every 20 minutes (between 6 am and 11 pm) to and from the airport, as well as a paid private transfer (more info on both services).


We strongly urge delegates to book accommodation at one of the Emperors Palace 3, 4 or 5 star, on-site hotels where you will receive great value for money with a variety of pricing options. Accommodation at Emperors Palace is in high demand, and needs to be booked early to avoid disappointment. Alternatively, you may want to consider various accommodation options in the surrounding Kempton Park area.

Guide to visitors from outside South Africa


Visitors from many countries outside of South Africa will require a visa to visit the country, both as a tourist or on a business trip. Please contact the South African Embassy in your country of origin to find out exactly what is required to apply for a visa. Visa applications can take several weeks to process, and you are strongly advised to apply for a visa sooner rather than later, at least four weeks before you depart for South Africa.

Letter of invitation

If you require a letter of invitation for your visa application, you will firstly need to register and pay to attend ICT Infrastructure 2019, and then email Charmaine Manicom ( to request a letter of invitation.

NB: Please attach a copy of your passport, air ticket and proof of accommodation in South Africa.
